We celebrated my great friend Kara on her birthday with a luxury retreat at The Post Hotel in Leavenworth.  We were welcomed with a European style breakfast, coffee , tea, fruits, spreads, meats and cheeses.  We sat nestled in a nook of a beautifully natural lit bay window, crisp white linens draped from each table.  Grainsack upholstered chairs filled the room while beautiful shadows darted from corner to corner creating depth and mood.  Glorious carved chandeliers hung from the sky lights, adding to the Renascence ambiance. 

After breakfast we gathered our spa bags, got into our robes and descended down the coiled iron staircase to the spa.  We were greeted by beautiful curved architecture, A turquoise salt water pool, and lounge chairs for a day of relaxation.

I of course had to bring my camera along, taking a handful of details here and there, the lighting, texture, and architecture are just too incredible.  I took these images on film with my medium format Contax 645 camera.  The way the light fills the spa through the arched windows is unlike any other.

We thoroughly enjoyed our spa day at The Post Hotel and look forward to another day of relaxation.  The nap room was especially wonderful, the lunch was divine, and the atmosphere was an absolute oasis for the busy lifestyle.
